About
Benjamin Moritz heads Investment Strategy & Research at FINVIA and is a member of its Investment Committee. His work revolves around one question: how should wealth be spread across all asset classes, listed and private, so that it lasts? His focus:
- Forecasts of returns, risks and correlations
- Portfolio optimisation over several periods
- Scenario analyses and stress tests
- Cash-flow and NAV models for alternative investments
Before FINVIA he was a founding partner of HQ Asset Management and spent ten years in asset allocation and fund management at Sal. Oppenheim. Since 2014 he has used artificial intelligence to value and forecast companies and financial markets; his research on it received the Best Paper Award of the German Finance Association and, for his PhD thesis, the PLEXUS Advancement Award for Artificial Intelligence in Finance. He teaches, supervises students and speaks at universities and conferences.
